FCA IronMan Golf Marathon to raise funds for campers and the Nancy Warner Scholarship Endowment.

Picture
Mark two dates; February 23rd for the IRONMAN 100 hole golf marathon at the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club and January 7th,  5:45 PM EDT at the PGA Tour Media Center, 100 PGA Tour Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

The Kickoff being conducted on January 7th is an introduction to the event in order to let potential "Ironmen" know what FCA Golf is all about, why the Golf Marathon is so special, what is in it for the player and what the criteria are for becoming one of the select few of the proud IRONMEN for FCA Golf. You can register to attend the Kickoff by clicking here.

Picture
FCA Golf is one of the most prominent ministries using the platform of golf to fulfill their mission; "To present coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church."

Picture
They conduct golf Camps, and Gamedays for youth golfers and provide TourLife to meet the needs of traveling tournament golfers.

The FCA Golf IRONMAN 100 hole golf marathon is a classic  golf fundraising format that has proven successful with FCA as well as many other ministries over the last 25 years, in fact, Kingdom.golf offers the format for it's customers.  The idea is to rent a golf course for an entire day, recruit between 20 - 40 golfers who have reached out to their network to raise up to $25 per hole played in pledges.  The goal is to play 100 holes or more in one day.  In this way, each golfer could raise upwards of $2,500.  It has a low overhead and creates alot of buzz for the organization and for the event.

Kingdom.golf hopes to participate in the IRONMAN and may be reaching out to YOU for a donation; "Come on, I'm sponsoring my self for $1.00 per hole or $100.  Couldn't you help me raise money for junior golfers participating in the FCA Golf Summer Camps by donating a $1.00 per hole as well.

Thanks so much.

Christ-mas & GtGtG

What in the world do Christmas and golf or giving the Gospel thru Golf have to do with each other?

Why, Mr Bill, (I like the way Southerners say that) are you deluging us with this Gospel stuff?  Isn't that something that should be left in the church or in the home?  Why are you touting all this Christian stuff?

I'm glad you asked.  I was just having a conversation with my wife about the same thing.

I have this incredible PASSION for the game of golf.  I don't know why it is, but, it is and I know there are a heck of alot of others of you who have the same passion.  I believe I've discovered WHY I have this passion and I will get to that in a bit.

But I have this incredible LOVE for Jesus Christ.  I remember when it started back in 1981 and, how, over the years, it out-shined the passion I had for the game of golf.  Yeah, out-shined, became more important than, etc.  In 1989 I was in the Army still and praying to God that He would make it clear to me about joining golf together with my faith; "Could there be a way to join them, Father?"  It's an incredibly long story, but, He did, and He is.  That's what giving the Gospel thru golf (GtGtG) is all about.

Picture
I talked about PASSION.  Would you agree that passion comes from a desire inside of us?  I believe that is so.  I had a desire to be a better, no, great golfer.  I wanted soooo badly to be on the PGA Tour.  I have said often, "There is just something about being on a golf course; the atmosphere, the grass, the feel, the smells, the feeling of hitting a three iron flush with a brand new Titleist or the smell of a new golf glove (Footjoy of course).  There's just something about it.  You know?"  It seems like it's my whole being that is satisfied in that environment.  That's passion.  That's desire.

Verses in the Bible roll around in my brain.  As I was writing the above paragraph, a verse similar to this; seek me with all that you have and I will give you the desires of your heart and ... a man makes plans in his heart, but, fulfillment comes from the Lord.  To be honest, I couldn't locate them, but, I did locate this one; “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever." 1 Chronicles 28:9

Is that what was going on between 1981 and now?  Was God placing the passion for golf in my heart on purpose in order for Him to use that passion for His purposes?  I believe that's true.  I believe He uses our passions, our desires and places our love for Him in our hearts so that He will be honored and glorified by our lives as we live them out in the area of our passions.  For me that's golf.

If for you, that's, also, golf, let's continue to live our lives in golf for Him and for His glory.  Merry Christmas.

In Him

Video - Helping Joe CoWhick & Introduction to Gary Wiren (duh)

Following the GtGtG web conference, Joe CoWhick and I decided to speak about expanding the offering of his swing training aids on the web.

Today, Joe and I had our first conversation and I was glad to walk him through a process to take his existing website www.joecowhick.com and detemine;
  1. Does he have a viable product?
  2. Does he have a decent website?
  3. Does it contain a method to sell his product (s)?
  4. Can he upgrade the search engine optimization on the site?
  5. Does he have an email list of his friends and clients?
  6. Can he implement an email campaign?
  7. How engaged in Social Media is he?

These items are all important in order to take his products and have any chance whatever to use the tools available online to gain and audience and sell his products.  We have a bit of work to do, but, most of the answers were positive and hope we might get his product to be more visible on the web in 2015.  Just helpin' a Brother out, ya know!?

During our conversation, Joe mentioned that his product was available on Gary Wiren's website,http://www.golftrainingaids.com.  Of course, I went to the site and found that his product was indeed there, but, that, just so like so many others is was buried deep in with many other products.  I advised him to call the company and ask to have it highlighted for a short period following Christmas.  That would, at least provide a bit of a bump in promotion.

While on the site, I realized who Gary Wiren was and decided to check out  his site.  I was pleasantly surprised at how nice his site was and the value of the videos and other information within the site.

Below is one of his videos I found interesting.  Click on his name above to see his other videos.

Enjoy!

My great new friend and Brother, Kelly Hoodikoff, is conducting the Golf Discipleship Training School or gDTS in Phoenix, AZ beginning this January.

We highlighted the effort in a past post on this blog, but, since he has updated a video and since contacting the College Golf Fellowship (CGF) guys, I wanted to promote Kelly's school again for all of those that may have their hearts being tugged to combine their passion for golf with their love for Christ.  Check it out....

Kingdom.golf Golf Ministry and Golf Tournament Consultation

12/15/2014

As most of you know that have been following us online, Kingdom.golf is both a ministry and a golf fundraising consultation company.

We have been focused on reaching out to those that have a golf platform that has a love of Christ and have just completed our three-day web conference to help get the information out relative to the ministerial focus of KG for 2015.

Now we continue to inform about our golf fundraising consultation business.

We are writing a book that will be released in early January on conducting golf fundraising events.  Our original site www.kingdomcorporategolf.com contains much of this information, but, we decided we needed a book to better explain the conduct of successful "fundraising" golf events.  Here is an example of the beginning of the book;

Chapter 1.  The Tournament vs The Fundraising Event

One of the most important tasks associated with an effective FUNDRAISING golf event is overlooked by most golf ‘tournaments’.  I say that very specifically; a FUNDRAISING GOLF EVENT vs a golf TOURNAMENT.  The golf tournament is the typical 18 hole scramble trying to recruit as many four-man golfer teams as possible and solicit as many $100 hole sponsors as possible.  They are also hoping to recruit a couple of $1,000 Sponsors for the long-drive or closest-to-the-pin competitions.  This golf tournament takes hundreds of hours to plan and manage and is considered a success if it raises more than $4,000 net for the organization.

The FUNDRAISING GOLF EVENT, however, is conducted by implementing a proven and well thought-out item by item strategy to recruit a Fundraising Committee and subordinate committees that will focus on FUNDRAISING by seeking out major and minor sponsors for long-term financial commitments to the organization with a very specific return on investment for the sponsor.  This strategy is KEY to an effective FUNDRAISING GOLF EVENT that can net upwards of $20,000 on the first-year event.

Doesn’t that sound sweet?

Kingdom.Golf has the proven strategy and experience to find and train the right Fundraising Committee members in order to raise the most amount of money.

Keep coming back to read more or contact us for online and over -the-phone consultation on any facet of conducting effective "fundraising" golf events.

In Him

Thanks
