This Open Door opportunity took the efforts of those who have a passion for golf and a love for Jesus Christ.
The genesis for this event was the passion and the vision of a group of men who saw that an event as prestigious as the U.S. Open and, for that matter, the first time in history that the Men's and Women's U.S. Opens would be conducted back to back at the same facility, was an opportunity to bring attention to our Creator. What a better platform to show the love of Christ to thousands and thousands of people?

So, the groundwork was laid and the activities planned, coordination was conducted and we conducted two weeks worth of fun and fellowship and interaction, witnessing and evangelizing, that's right, evangelism!
We needed you! We had a myriad of jobs to be accomplished during the two weeks and we recruited, managed and organized the effort for people like you to express the love of God here in Pinehurst and put into practice the gifts that God has given you. We needed van drivers, attendants in the Chapel and outside, folks to hand out water and fellowship with anyone and everyone that passed or sat down to enjoy the experience of being at the Open in Pinehurst and taking a few moments to rest and watch some entertainment on the front lawn of the Village Chapel.
One of the main opportunities we had for those that are gifted to "tell their story" of how they decided to follow Christ was available. They were equipped to do what they desired to do during the Open Championships as they roamed about the Resort, Village and the grounds of the Chapel. They engaged with anyone and everyone. They asked them questions about themselves, got to know them a bit and determined they would tell their story in order to introduce them to a deeper knowledge of who they were and what it was that has compelled them to visit Pinehurst and tell their story. We provided a trinket, the Open Doors for the Open wristband. We loved it because it was just the right pattern with the red, white and blue and our website URL is on the band as well.
Our desire is to maintain engagement with each person who heard a story in order to guide them to a fellowship inside of their town or region that someone may take an interest and further grow a relationship and, possibly, disciple them. Matthew 28:17-20
Bless you...
Thanks
