What did Open Doors for the Open look like and accomplish for visitors?
The overall focus was to make this an experience for the fans attending the U.S. Open during the weeks of June 9 - 22, 2014 at a location that is right outside one of the gates from the Pinehurst Resort headed into Pinehurst Village.
What type of experience? Our friend, Josh Nelson, tried to paint the picture of a "tailgate party" U.S. Open style and that presented a pretty comfortable image of what we hoped to accomplish. But, it's more than that, really. It's a family of individuals that have a passion for Jesus Christ and want to exhibit that passion by serving those that have come to visit Pinehurst and enjoy one of the the greatest golf venues in the world.

The Village Chapel itself is a beautiful building with lush grounds and classical architecture. The building was open for visitors to enter and hang out while being entertained by HD live broadcasting of the Open itself or looping DVD's of other events, testimonies and/or golfing movies.
Additionally, there were activities conducted throughout the weeks highlighting speakers and programs, ministries, worship and just plain old fun and fellowship.
Outside of the building itself we provided a resting area for anyone that needed to take a respite, hang out on the grounds, lounge around and enjoy the entertainment of a 10 ' by 10' HD television broadcasting the Open and other videos similar to what was played inside the Chapel. Again, this was a place for anyone to hangout, get to know each other and be introduced to our family, learn about the opportunities to connect our passion for golf with our love of Jesus Christ.
We hope this helped paint a picture. Contact us or join our email list/RSS feed to receive more information and updates.
Thanks for reading and viewing.
