Continuing the HisKingdom.golf Ministry

You may have noticed that we have stopped covering the PGA Tour, the Tour Champions as well as LPGA for the season during the holidays. It was intentional because of the fact that the holidays are the times for "silly golf" as we used to call it. There is, indeed, a competition going on with the ISPS Handa, World Cup of Golf in Australia and in several other places where competition continues but, quite honestly, we are taking a small break as well in weekly coverage because of the holidays and we must regroup, to a degree, in defining our ministry and maintaining a focus on what our mission is.

What do YOU see as a viable focus for our ministry going forward & how can YOU help us?

As we've stated time and time again, the mission of HisKingdom.golf has been to;

"facilitate(s) the coalescing of golf ministries online and at events such as the 2014 US Open, 2015 Masters and other events leading up to the 2016 Olympics for the purpose of conducting evangelism and discipleship opportunities as well as other activities to give the Gospel through golf."

Since it is 2016 into 2017 we need to update our Mission in retrospect for what has opened to us as opportunities, so, our mission now is;

"facilitate(s) the coalescing of golf ministries online and at PGA, LPGA, Tour Championship and other high-profile competitions such as the 2017 Waste Management Open, Phoenix and others for the purpose of conducting evangelism and discipleship as well as other activities to give the Gospel through golf."

We have accomplished three of our four objectives and, we feel, on just the right schedule to further implement our vision in calendar year 2017.

We'll continue to publish our http://enews.hiskingdom.golf/*/. We'll continue to post blogs here & promote activities of golf ministries. We plan to visit Phoenix in Jan/Feb to participate in Tales From the Tour & further coordinate 2017 activities at professional golf events.

What do YOU see as a viable focus for our ministry going forward & how can YOU help us?

Let us know.

Thanks

In Him2

Are you interested in golf as ministry?

Again, we've been walking down the path to promote golf as a platform for ministry for HisKingdom.golf and our eNewsLetter.
We covered our mission and first two objectives which we have implemented and our update on our eNewsLetter, eNews.HisKingdom.golf/

Mission is to promote the fact that golf is an appropriate and effective platform for evangelism and discipleship for the Kingdom of God, through Jesus Christ.

Objectives #1 & #2;

1. To maintain an active website presence on HisKingdom.golf and promote our content through social media.  This will be accomplished by publishing a weekly blog post.

2. To grow the number of like-minded golfers who are Christ-followers in order to encourage and support them.  Ultimate goal is 25,000+ followers throughout the entire social media platform with interim goals of 500 as benchmarks.
We're going to skip over Objective #3 for next time, but, now we will expand a bit on Objective #4.

4. To marshal support from local golfers who are Christ-followers at professional golf events for evangelism and discipleship at the event and following.  An event list will be established by December 1st. Target first event is the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, AZ, January 30 - February 5th, 2017.

What's next?  We'll be there!!  Where?  At the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Tales from the Tour event.

Tales from the Tour is an established outreach event conducted in Phoenix during the tournament.  You can. of course, read about the past events by clicking on the link provided.  Suffice it to say, this particular event is perfect for us to join in order to engage with others of the same mindset and, possibly, implement our Brigade of Evangelists initiative.

We have coordinated with Lewis Greer, the President of the Board for Tales from the Tour as well as a staff member of Links Players International and will more closely coordinate soon. Our vision is to have a number of golfers who have a passion for golf and a love of Jesus Christ to share their stories while attending the event and introduce them to the fellowship of others.  They would pass a wristband or card of some type to them with our website and, hopefully, get the contact information of those they meet in order to continue to communicate with them through the HisKingdom.golf site and eNews.HisKingdom.golf enews letter.  In the future we will encourage attendance at our other events and, possibly, connect them to a fellowship or church in their area.
