Well, we did it. We've published our first week's worth of eNews.HisKingdom.golf for 2017. Therefore we have accomplished objective #1 and will be publishing four or five 'papers' each week and posting one new blog per week throughout 2017. Whew!!
Now onto Objective #2.

To grow the number of like-minded golfers who are Christ-followers in order to encourage and support them. Ultimate goal is 25,000+ followers throughout the entire social media platform with interim goals of 500 as benchmarks.

So, how are we going to do that?  To be honest, it's about YOU!  Why, you ask?

I enrolled in Platform University engineered by Michael Hyatt over 6 months ago.  Michael, as you can read here, has become an expert in online branding and growing online entrepreneurs through social media.  He guides you through the process of establishing a website, a blog, an eNewsletter and how to engage with your audience through Social Media.

Hello, AUDIENCE, you are the crux of the Social Media expansion necessary to get the word out about HisKingdom.golf.  Yup!
So, do you believe in the message we are attempting to promote?  Here it is, once again....

OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE THE FACT THAT GOLF IS AN APPROPRIATE
AND EFFECTIVE PLATFORM FOR EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD,
THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.

If you agree with our mission, please, please help us by promoting our eNewsletter and blog posts with any of the social media that you use.  Do you use Facebook or Twitter?  On the bottom of this post there are two buttons you can push to Like or Tweet this post through your Facebook or Twitter account.

If you're reading our eNewsLetter, you just need to click on the appropriate social media button on the left of the post.  Doing this will place the post or the eNewsletter on your social media.

These simple actions will introduce YOUR social media contacts to our efforts and afford them the opportunity to determine if they will, in turn, Like, Tweet, Google+ or place it on their LinkedIn which expands our network even further.

Again, WHY?  Because the message of the Gospel is and will be included in our postings and maybe, just maybe, your assistance with these efforts could let someone you care about hear the Gospel through golf.

Please help us out.

Thanks so much......

Oh, and, if you please, subscribe to our eNewsLetter by clicking here.

HisKingdom.golf Objective, to maintain an online presence...

It has taken a long time to figure out what the Lord is calling us to do.  We now recognize; our mission is to promote the fact that golf is an appropriate and effective platform for evangelism and discipleship for the Kingdom of God, through Jesus Christ.

So, how will we accomplish our objectives?

Well for Objective #1, here we go....

1. To maintain an active website presence on HisKingdom.golf and promote our content through social media.

As we stated earlier, this will be accomplished by publishing a weekly blog post.  We've been doing this since 2013 and have a bevy of posts dealing with our conduct of the US Open Outreach during the 2014 US Opens held at Pinehurst #2 as well as posts regarding how to implement an outreach ministry through golf.

Our intention is to continue to post articles like these as well as promote the events & activities of our sister organizations using golf as ministry.  The blog posts are great, but, how do we draw folks to the site?  Well, first we're going to produce an eNews "Paper" online called our eNews.HisKingdom.golf/#!headlines.  We hope to draw seekers to our site by producing a high-quality enewsletter highlighting the professional golf event news from each week and intersperse written, video or graphic news regarding our sister golf ministries as well.  We prayerfully hope this will draw seekers to our site and, thus, to the sites of our sister ministries.

We developed the eNews "Paper" in the middle of the golf season this past year and attempted to publish the "Paper" four or five days each week as the golf events unfolded.  We learned alot and hope to be more consistent with this tool in 2017.

our mission is to promote the fact that golf is an appropriate and effective platform for evangelism and discipleship for the Kingdom of God, through Jesus Christ.

Additionally, and this is key, we went with a tool called BufferApp.com to distribute the posts/"Paper" directly through our email lists and over the social media accounts we have in FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube. This is critical for accomplishing our next objective; growing our base of followers, because it helps get the information out through these mediums.

Lastly, for now, we need the assistance of our followers on our email lists as well as on these media outlets to retweet, like, forward or whatever in order to alert the folks that follow their postings that there is a presence in the world of golf promoting Christ-followers and ministry.

Please help by doing these things yourself....

Thanks...

Next, objective #2;

2. To grow the number of like-minded golfers who are Christ-followers in order to encourage and support them.  Ultimate goal is 25,000+ followers throughout the entire social media platform with interim goals of 500 as benchmarks.

The USA Ryder Cup Team Wins 17 - 11
Whew, what a week of Golf!! The USA Ryder Cup team beat the European team in convincing fashion and, arguably, the greatest month of golf in it's history finished with the USA Team at the top of our international sport for the first time in many years.  What a great victory!!
Most of us who have been captured by this game for so long and have an incredible passion to follow the Tours, play and play and play, have seen this type of emotion and excitement before. Hello, remember Brookline?  But, this time is pretty sweet with the USA victory and being able to witness the precision with which each of these men play this wonderful game.  Just, "WOW!!!".

....didn't the antics display a, kinda, immature and over-the-top emotionalism?

Picture
These is NO taking away from the magnitude of the victory for the USA and the spectacular performance of our European buddies.  (Man, didn't Sergio show up, finally? Whew.)

But, (you knew it was coming) didn't the antics display a, kinda, immature and over-the-top emotionalism?  Didn't it seem that a few of the players reacted differently than they normally would? I get it, it was a big stage and Patrick Reed's emotional example from 2014 set the stage for outward displays of the "shush" signal, as evidenced by Rory and Sergio a few times, but, many of the players went overboard in their expressions, many times in response to the stupidity of the equally inappropriate behavior of USA and/or European hecklers. I don't know, just a comment on maturity and the state of our cultures, I guess.

So, yes, we won and I was mesmerized by the pageantry and artistry and, even, the sportsmanship of Rory and Patrick when they fist-pumped after matching birdies early in their Sunday lead-off match.

But, again, the immaturity of many of the players and, especially, the fans continues to leave an odd taste in my mouth that sours the sweet taste of Ryder Cup victory & history.

Just sayin'.
