HisKingdom.golf has been invited to participate in the Power Up Sports Conference being conducted in Knoxville, TN on March 1st.

Here is the story that will be told......

"I have this incredible passion for golf.  In fact, some 20 million Americans and multiple millions of others throughout the world have the same passion.

How many of you are familiar with the verses associated with God's dealing with us from the beginning in Psalm 139?

    "1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
     3b you are familiar with all my ways.
     7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

     ***13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

     ***15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,

     ***when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;

      ***all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

     23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
     24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

I believe wholeheartedly that God placed in my heart the passion for the game of golf.

But, how can He use me for His Kingdom purposes through that passion??

Of course; USE THE GAME FOR HIS PURPOSES OUTLINED TO US IN MATTHEW 28:19-20

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

How is God working that out in my life?

Through HisKingdom.golf, LLC and the five objectives outlined on our website;

1. To maintain an active website presence on HisKingdom.golf and promote our content through social media.

2. To grow the number of like-minded golfers who are Christ-followers in order to encourage and support them.

3. To develop a greater trust relationship with the ministries that are using golf as a platform for ministry.

4. To marshal support from local golfers who are Christ-followers at professional golf events for evangelism and discipleship at the event and following.

5. To assist churches and para-ministries in the conduct of evangelical and discipleship golf events in their community.

Let's look more closely at Objective #5;

We have learned through the conduct of over 130 golf events over the past many years how to conduct quality golf events with a specific purpose and objective.  In the conduct of these events partnered with a desire to evangelize and disciple for the Kingdom, we have learned that one-time events DO NOT ACCOMPLISH THE OBJECTIVE.

We have adopted a format for an Invitational golf event (mostly revealed through the Challenge Golf Association in Chattanooga, TN) that challenges those that have a passion for golf and a love for Jesus Christ to step out and engage with their golfing buddies in order to build a closer relationship, introduce their passion for Jesus Christ and engage in a process to disciple or mentor their buddies as Believers in Jesus Christ.

This Invitational begins with a high-quality golf event conducted at one of the best golf courses/facilities in the local area.  We prayerfully encourage the golfing Believers (we call them Caddies) to, again, prayerfully, determine the 1 - 3 golfers they will invite to the Invitational.  Prior to the event the Caddies will meet weekly for prayer and guidance on the conduct of the Invitational and their role as Caddies.

Why Caddy?  Because the golfing Believer or Caddy will NOT be playing in the event, but Caddying for his golfers.  Additionally, throughout the meetings prior to the event, there will be training on how to engage with our golfers relative to the reason they were invited, why the Caddy is, well, caddying, and how to utilize the printed and video materials to engage with the golfer during the event and after when they meet following the event for the disciple/mentoring engagement.  Yes, the Caddy will attempt to get a commitment from his golfers to meet every other week for breakfast or lunch and walk through the book and video to develop a closer relationship, see how the book/video identifies with the golfer and to mentor them into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

We have also introduced another golf event format that can encourage and grow this time together with the golfer and Caddy.  It is the Golf League.  The League can be conducted for a minimum of 10 weeks with a free-flow of golf competition between Caddies and their golfing buddies in order to foster the meeting together as outlined above.  More information can be gained on this event by going here….

and here as well.

This event and continued meeting together fosters a loving relationship between Caddy and golfer, eventually leads to maturity in Jesus Christ for the golfer, grows the confidence of the Caddy to disciple/mentor and, hopefully guides the golfer into a deeper relationship with Christ and his family.

We would, gladly, partner with any group or church to assist in the conduct of the Invitational for you.

HisKingdom.golf Attended Tales from the Tour 2017 & Video Recorded Tom Lehman's Story

We were, indeed, thankful to hear Tom's testimony regarding the 2016 Ryder Cup victory for the USA team.  Tom's insight as an Assistant Captain and personal friend of Davis Love captured the true fellowship and power behind this monumental victory.

So, How was the WMPO and the PGA Show?

Well, honestly, the ATT Pebble Beach Pro-Am is probably more interesting, but, as you can see from our last post, we need to update our HisKingdom.golf news from the WMPO and the PGA Merchandise Show.
OK, so, the WMPO was both amazing and average.  As you may remember, our objective at the WMPO was to recruit as many golfers as possible with a passion for golf and a love for Jesus Christ to join us in "Telling YOUR Story" while enjoying the WMPO at TPC Scottsdale. We were to join Lewis Greer and Links Players International as well as the Tales from the Tour event being conducted January 31st to conduct our outreach.

We had about four folks that took us up on "Telling YOUR Story" and we hooked up with Lewis when we first arrived in Phoenix.  Lewis did an amazing job of staging the Tales from the Tour event and by God's grace had Ted Scott, Bubba's caddy, Aaron Baddeley, Tom Lehman and Andrew Yun, a young Web.com player, as speakers. Jeff Cranford, President of Links Players International was the host. It was very well done and had about 1300 folks attending.  We have a video clip below of Tom Lehman's speech. We were able to meet with Lewis and play golf with him and Micah Bechtel, one of the chaplains on the Tour, at Mesa Country Club. Lewis was more than gracious and we were thankful to meet him and participate in the event.
The best story from the week was when we met Nico, an 11 year old golfer, who joined us in the Armed Forces Tent on 18 fairway. Nico was a joy to speak with and a true golf lover. He and his dad were attending the WMPO for the fourth time or so and he was all about the Pros and the tournament. We were able to talk with him about the FCA Game Day & get him to visit our site for updates on next year's Game Day.  Nico was the highlight of our time at the WMPO.

Jim Esary and FCA - Golf's Game Day was Awesome

The actual WMPO was everything it was promoted to be and more.....

The weather was wonderful. Tuesday we participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Golf Game Day event hosted by Jim Esary, President of FCA - Golf.  It was amazing!!

Kevin Streelman, Ben Crane and Craig ________ played their practice round and allowed the FCA kids and their parents walk along with them, engaging with the kids so much that they were allowed to caddy and chat with the pros.  Following nine holes, we marshaled in a corporate tent on the left hand side of hole #18 and the pros gave their testimonies relative to their love for Christ.  Below is a video and a series of pictures from the day.  FCA Game Day is THE best golf spiritual engagement I have witnessed to date.
We attended the Thursday and Friday rounds of the WMPO with a crowd on Friday of 169,000 fans. It was nuts, but, was a wonderful experience on a marvelous golfing venue for the PGA Tour at TPC Scottsdale.  If you haven't already, you hafta plan a trip to the event.  After all, Phoenix in February, how can you lose??  We'll be there next year.

PGA Show?  Didn't go.

Oh, almost forgot, we did not attend the PGA Merchandise Show.  It was too difficult to travel from Phoenix to Orlando and not a great value for what we thought we would accomplish ministerially during the show.  Maybe next year.
