Back in 2014, Wally Armstrong asked me what the vision going forward for HisKingdom.golf, (then Open Doors) would be.
Man, I'm so glad he asked that.... It is found here, but, what should it look like?
What has become very obvious during the past 30 years, yes, 30 years, is that there are a tremendous number of people who have a passion for golf and a love for Jesus Christ. In a similar vein, we know that our Lord calls us to be on mission for Him in this world;
19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28.
and, lastly, for now, we are called to unity in the Spirit in John 17, the incredible prayer from our Lord. "Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one." John 17:11b
If this is so, shouldn't we be in unity in our vision, mission and activities?
The answer is yes. Therefore the response to the question is the following;
We should be about the call of our Lord to go out into all the world on mission for Him and we should do this in unity of purpose, but, exercising our individual gifts, experiences and influence in our particular place in which the Lord has placed us. Therefore, we believe we should conduct a collective brainstorming (Spirit-storming) session with all interested parties called to be on mission for the Lord through the game of golf.
Look here at the ministries we have found that are involved in taking their passion for golf and their love of Jesus Christ and reaching out to introduce Him as well as disciple those they bring alongside...... This list is only a portion of those that have this mission, this drive to serve Him. There are full-time men and women on the major and minor golf Tours throughout the world that are developing and growing relationships with individuals in order to invest their lives in others for the Lord Jesus Christ. Look at the books and videos and stories developed that are written from a perspective to reach out to the golfer from Wally Armstrong, Seven Days in Utopia, Links Players International, etc, etc. In fact we are aware that "I Am Second" is planning on producing a "Bubba" video and a marque name in the professional ranks is working toward producing video documentaries of Pros that have had the Lord as the center of their lives.
Shouldn't we be good stewards and get together in unity to pool resources and efforts on a unified front and mission?
The answer is YES!
