Cameron Tringale Devotional for The Open - My Response

Scripture: Mark 13:10

Scripture Reading: And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

Thought: Jesus was always reminding his disciples of three things—a clear vision, an inspiring mission, and a refusal to accept false boundaries. We can quickly forget our vision—what are we about? Where do we want to go? What do we want our lives to look like? How about mission—why do you do what you do? What is your bottom-line motivation that keeps you working, hoping, and believing? Regarding boundaries, we can be quick to place limits, walls, and definitions where God has not set them. Christ wants to widen all three—our vision, our mission, and our boundaries. Today, think bigger. Remind yourself that Jesus is the author of any BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goal) we could have—his is the salvation of the world! .

Reflection 1: In what ways have you sensed your vision blurring, your boundaries closing in, or your mission being watered down?

Reflection 2: In a few paragraphs, write out a statement of your life’s mission and vision.

Prayer: Lord, please help me think clearly and expansively today.

Contributor: Cameron Tringale
Reflection 2 - My life's mission & vision

I'll begin with Vision first - I love the Lord's Prayer. In it the Lord calls us to pray; ".. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." In a round-about way, that is my vision; that all of us would be Believers in Jesus Christ & be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Then we would be in "unity" like Jesus prays for in John 17.

My Mission - To grow in the knowledge of God thru His Word, fellowship with His people & life's experiences in order to minister to my wife, my children & grandchildren, my extended family as well as those the Lord brings into fellowship with me. I also believe I am to continue to impact the world of golf with the Gospel by any means God provides.

HisKingdom.Golf, eNewsLetter & Golf From the Heart

HisKingdom.golf continues to fulfill our mission of promoting those that use the platform of golf as ministry.  We have been publishing blogs and our enewsletter for over a year now and have been distributing this information throughout as much of Social Media as we are able.

But, are we helping?  We believe so, but, we are not skilled enough in the art of social media to determine, gauge nor strategically review the information in order to take advantage of these tools to grow our community as well as help those ministries we have been promoting.

We have been saying for many years that our mission is really a business ....

So, what would good stewards of this mission do to ensure we are doing excellent work for the Kingdom?

"Golf From the Heart" (GFtH) is a strategic answer to this question.

Where can junior golfers receive quality golf instruction & develop quality relationships?  Where can Middle school & High School golfers receive the same & foster their team objectives & goals?  How can college golfers become more mature in their craft & their personal lives while building lasting relationships through their team?  Where will talented professional golfers find encouragement & comradery out on Tour as they hone their craft & professional life?  In what environment will seasoned golfers be equipped to serve & satisfy those entrusted to them while finishing strong on the fairways of life?
Golf From the Heart serves each of these seasons of golf life.

"I, personally, believe the opportunity exists for a young golfer when he/she picks up a club, into middle school and high school golf teams, college & into mid & later life as well as throughout a professional golf career, to hear the Gospel and be mentored in his/her faith.

So, from the time a player picks up a club until they stop playing the game, there are resources and groups to encourage, disciple and minister through golf." (Read more)

"Golf From the Heart" (GFtH) is a strategic answer to this question.

We have been saying for many years that our mission is really a business and must be planned, organized and implemented like a business in order to maintain excellence, fund the efforts and impact the Kingdom.  We will establish "Golf From the Heart" as an L3C corporate enterprise.  The L3C is an IRS approved corporate entity which focuses on philanthropic advancement and declares a limited profit objective.  The L3C has been allowed to seek Foundational as well as corporate investments that can take advantage of the Program Related Investments (PRI) designation.

This is our way forward. Much more to come.  Follow our advancements by clicking here.

Nashville Golf Open, Day 1

The Day was a bit different than expected

Well, my experience at the Nashville Golf Open Day 1 was a bit different than I expected, but, a blessing, nonetheless.

The day was one of those special, extraordinary weather days in Middle Tennessee that we don't normally see; hot, yet not very humid. So, how could anything be a problem when the day came out like that?
Picture
I'll get to the silliness of the day later, but, I gotta tell ya, TourLife with Jose Alvarez, Rhonda and Parks Brown, Pat Sellers, Scotty Smith, the Web.com Players and Caddies as well as the Junior Golfers from Nashville was an absolute joy!!

The Browns hosted the group in their lovely home and the guest speaker was Scotty Smith, author of several books, including "Everyday Prayers", "Restoring Broken Things" and others.

Scotty spoke on the first verse of the book of Jude and, I was not aware of the fact that Jude was a brother of Jesus.  He expanded on the first verse to tell us how amazing it was what Jesus Christ has done for us, in that; we are "those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for (by) Jesus Christ."  Wow, what a message.

Jose asked a few of the Players to update their experiences on the Web.com Tour and it was interesting to hear how a few of them had been playing very well as of late and almost secured their Top 25 position on the Tour, therefore qualifying for the PGA Tour in 2018!!!

One Player in particular expanded on his experience of becoming more at peace with himself, his game and his profession as he became more aware of his position in Christ.  Very impactful.

The night ended for me as Pat Sellers of PGA Tour Putting, myself and one of the Players discussed Pat's research for the past 16 years and how golf and life are so alike.  Love this stuff!!
One Player in particular expanded on his experience of becoming more at peace with himself .... Thru Christ ....

Now to the silliness; the golf course, Nashville Golf and Athletic Club is only about 45 minutes from Nashville, but, my second stop was at the residence of Parke and Rhonda Brown for the TourLife meeting at 7 PM. Since I had placed their residence address in my GPS as I was looking for their location, I assumed the address in the GPS was to the golf course, but, I was wrong, so after 1 hour heading to their residence, I had to drive another 1/2 hour to the golf course. Duh!!! What a dope.

So, upon reaching the entrance to the golf course, the policeman informed me that all spectators had to park at Englewood High School just 7 miles from the course and there would be a shuttle to take folks to and from from the event. As I sat there listening to him I observed about 4 people on the golf course and NO traffic coming in and out of the course. By the way it was about 3:15 PM.

So, I, dutifully drove to the High School where there were about 12 cars in the spectator parking area and waited 20 mins for a shuttle which did not arrive. Now, granted this is Tuesday of a Web.com event, but, no shuttles in 20 minutes?

I received a call from Jose right around that time and agreed with him that it might be best for us to meet at the Tour Life get-together and allow him to rest before Tour Life as one of the Players had asked him to fill in for his caddie.  Jose is just that kinda guy, so he did and, as he told me, was exhausted as would I be......

I had to decide what I would do for 3 hours, searched the area for a golf course and practice putted for 2+ hours.  I needed it .... then off to my original destination, the Brown's residence and Tour Life.  Great and interesting and blessed day.

Thank you, Father!!

Today Headed to the Nashville Open, Web.com

Whew, it's been awhile since my last post, but, today, I'm headed to the Nashville Open, Web.com Tour event.  It would be no big deal, but, thankfully I have developed a cool relationship with Jose Alvarez who is ministering to many of the Players on the Web.com Tour and he has invited me to hang out with him today and, hopefully tomorrow as well.
Is this important?  Yes, because one of our objectives for www.HisKingdom.golf is to engage in events that will edify God and promote the fact that many serious golfers have a relationship with Jesus Christ in which they seek excellence on the golf course as a platform for their testimony.  FCA Greenville, Jose Alvarez, Matt Atkins and many of the Web.com Tour Players share a similar objective.
I will be sharing the day's experience with our community on Social Media.  Please follow us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, InstaGram and Pinterest for latest updates.

Thanks so much!!

Conduct of the New Vision Golf League, Spring 2017

Our Goal is Fellowship and Fun!!

See the schedule below

Well, alright, guys, we have seven and possibly eight two-man teams for our inaugural New Vision Golf League.
Picture
How will this work??

1. You and your partner are registered for a 10-week competitive golf league schedule.

2. You and your partner will receive the book "Mulligan" from Bill during the first week of competition, March 26, 2017. We will cover Chapter 1 with our partner during week two, April 2. (More info to follow.)

3. You and your partner will compete against an identified team each week in a 2-man best ball 9 hole competition. (You can play 18 holes, but the front nine best ball will determine the winner of the match.)

4. You and your partner will contact your competitors to arrange a day of play during the competition week.  The match may be played anytime during that designated week at the designated golf course. For instance, week 1 will be March 26th through April 1st at Old Fort Golf Club.  You will schedule a match between you, your partner and your competitor team for some day during that week's time. You or your partner or competitor team will arrange a tee time at the Old Fort Golf Club, say on Tuesday afternoon at 3 PM.  Each player shows up and pays their own green fee; nine holes (competition) or 18 holes.

You and your partner will receive the book "Mulligan"

Picture
5. How is the match conducted?

   - You and your partner will play your own ball on each hole.  The maximum score for the hole is triple bogey, so after hitting your triple bogey shot, pick up your ball and your score for that hole is a triple bogey.

   - Let's say you and your partner are playing hole #1. You score a bogey and your partner picks up his ball after triple bogey. Your team best ball score for that hole is a bogey.  Your competitors each score a bogey on that hole as well, so their score for that hole is also a bogey (best ball score).  The first hole is "halved" or tied and the match is still even.  On the second hole you score a par and your partner scores a par.  Your score for that hole is a par. Your competitors score a bogey and a double bogey.  Your team won the second hole and your team is now "1 up".

   - You continue the competition for the rest of the nine holes and the team that is "up" after the ninth hole wins the match.

   - In case of a tie, each team will get 1 point in the competition. The winning team in the match gets 2 points, the tied teams each get 1 point and the losing team gets 0 points.

6.
You will text the results of the match to Bill (774-212-2265).

Any questions - text Bill @ 774-212-2265

Picture
7. The competition continues for 10 weeks.  Your team must compete for a minimum of 6 weeks to be in the running for prizes at the end of the competition.  The team with the most points for 6 weeks of competition wins. In case of a tie, a random week will be chosen as a tie-breaker.  The second place team will also win a prize.  We'll hand out several other prizes at the end of the competition.

The schedule and team information will be posted soon.

We plan on conducting an end of the competition golf tournament as well.

Any questions, don't hesitate to text Bill @ 774-212-2265 or email bill@hiskingdom.golf.

New Vision Baptist's Golf League

Giving the Gospel Thru Golf

Picture
We are thankful to conduct our second golf event with our home church, New Vision Baptist of Murfreesboro, TN.  You can see the way in which we will be implementing this years' events by clicking here, but, we wanted to further expand on what this tournament and golf league are aimed at accomplishing.

The League is About Fellowship & Mentorship

Picture
Golf leagues are great fun and are activities that, in this instance, bring men together to participate in an activity that they enjoy and which exposes men to each others' lives in a unique way.  The tourney and league are designed to bring two men together to learn more about each other, but, to explore more deeply their lives as Believers in Jesus Christ.

How will we do this?

We're asking men in our church community to participate in the league, but, we're also asking them to invite a partner to participate with them in the league from March through May.  Golf is a great social tool, but, just playing a round and a having a snack/lunch, but, how can we engage in this time together in order to grow in the knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ??  You see, that's the objective of our lives as men of God, isn't it?  When we apply Matthew 28:18-20 to our lives in the 21st century, wouldn't that include using unique fellowship tools like golf to engage in these life-giving growth opportunities?

So, our tourney was the introduction and genesis of our outreach golf event and the golf league is a continuation of the relationship-building experience between two men playing golf together and growing in the knowledge of God.

Picture
We'll use a great tool to help guide this.  The tool is the Wally Armstrong/Ken Blanchard book and video series called; "The Mulligan".

More on this in our next post as well as the schedule and conduct of the league.  Stay tuned.

Thanks so much;

In Him2

Bill
